Trustee Resignation

TRUSTEE Beryl Toon has stepped down from the Consolidated Charity of Burton-Upon-Trent after 12 years of service.

Beryl has been active on the charity’s almshouses and education sub committees as well as serving on the main committee looking at grant applications from groups and organisations in the town.

Ben Robinson, Chairman of the Consolidated Charity, said: “Beryl has been an active and dedicated trustee who had played an important part in the charity’s work for a long time.

“I want to thank her on behalf of all the trustees and we will greatly miss her input and wisdom especially in the almshouses and education sub- committees where she has played an important role.”

Beryl said: “I have enjoyed my time with the charity which does an amazing amount of good work but it has come time for me to retire.

“I have always been interested in old folks and young folks I guess which is why I got involved in those sub committees. The bursary system for young people is great and the way the charity looks after the people in the almshouses.

“The trustees are a very good group of people who are committed to helping the community and I will miss working with them and being involved in all that good work.

“I want to thank the trustees for their gift and their kind words.”
